Driving Business Performance with Social Media

The session’s theme is the importance of focusing on business goals, organizational culture and business metrics to add value to social media initiatives.  It will overview current results from internal social media and collaboration sites. Examples will be provided of both successes and failures and how to avoid failures.   Solutions provided include examples of focused metrics related to business opportunities or challenges that organizations have used to leverage collaboration and achieve success.

Learning Objectives:

• Increase understanding of the current state of social media in business;

• Identify examples of common mistakes in setting up social media sites;

• Learn techniques to demonstrate the business value of social media initiatives.

Speaker Biography : Caroline GrayCarolynGray

Ms. Gray is a global learning & development leader, who has worked in the field for over 20 years. Most recently, she was Head of KPMG’s global learning technology and performance measurement, where she introduced global learning systems and standards.

In addition, Ms. Gray has published articles and ebooks on Performance Measurement, eLearning and Blended Learning, and produced educational television series on innovative computer technologies.  She has spoken at DevLearn, ISPI, CCCE, ICCM and CSTD (2014) Conferences on scenario-based design, social media and performance support.

She advised on the ISO Standard on design principles and framework for multimedia user interfaces and has been a long-time judge with the Brandon Hall awards.  She is the recipient of instructional design, consulting and media use awards, as well as the ASTD Excellence in Practice award.  She has done graduate work in Philosophy and Adult Education at University of Wisconsin and the University of Toronto and is on the Board of the Canadian Training Institute.
